Mangaluru, Jan 8: The 40th national yoga championship will be held at the premises of Alva's institution, Moodbidri from January 10," said Narayana Shetty, president of Pathanjali Prathishtana Mangaluru unit.
Addressing media persons in the city he disclosed that the championship will be held from January 10 to 14 and 30 teams from the states and union territories will participate.
"Seer of Moodbidri jain mutt Bhattaraka Charukeerthi Swamiji along with Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes will inaugurate the event on January 10 at 3 pm. The championship will be held in various categories and the top three are eligible for reservations under various government departments under sports quota."
"The state health minister UT Khader, Urban Development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel along with other dignitaries will grace the occasion," he said.
"The concluding ceremony of the program will be held on January 14 at 11 am," he concluded.
Vice president of the national yoga foundation Gangadharappa, yoga instructors Suneetha Sharma, Devika Purushottham were present on the occasion.
