Kundapur, Jan 8: “The aim of Public meetings has been to go to people, understand their problems and find solutions to their problems. The public meeting has shown good results. There has been excellent response to the programmes of bringing 94 C law in the state to provide land to the landless. But there has been unhappiness among the beneficiaries with regard to the fees. Therefore it is decided to issue the title deeds within a fee of Rs seven thousands. The process of issuing title deeds will start soon after receiving the government circular,” said minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.
The minister was speaking after chairing the public meeting under the aegis of district administration Udupi and Zilla panchayat at Kundapur's R N Shetty auditorium on Thursday, January 7.
“The applications through 94C are being received in the urban area. The proposal to change the restriction of 600 square feet to three cents and limit the charges to Rs seven thousands is presented before the government. The programmes of issuing title deeds through Akrama Sakrama meetings will be held soon. Three fourth problems of ration cards have been solved. The 30% ration cards issued during BJP term have increased to 75%. Out of 168 promises made by the state government during elections, more than 108 are implemented,” he said.
“Job fairs will be held to solve the problem of unemployment and the unemployed will be provided suitable guidance. Water till 34 kilometres will be made to flow through Varahi irrigation project on January 10. Rs 45 crores are approved for underground drainage in Kundapur and the work will start in another fifteen days,” he said.
Beneficiaries of different programmes were distributed aid during the meeting. Taluk panchayat president Bhaskar Billava, deputy commissioner Dr R Vishal, zilla panchayat executive official Priyanka, municipal council president Kalavathi U S, Fisheries development corporation president B Hirianna Chatrabettu, zilla panchayat member Ganapathi T Sriyan, Indira Shetty, Kundapur town planning commission president Jacob D'Souza, assistant commissioner S Ashwathi, district level and taluk level officials were present.
Tahsildar Gayathri Nayak welcomed the gathering on the occasion.
