Mangaluru: Pejawar Swamiji to receive 'Paura Sammaana'

Mangaluru , Jan 1: Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math who will ascend the Paryaya Peetha for the fifth time on January 18 and junior seer Sri Vishwaprasannateertha Swamiji, will be honoured with 'Paura Sammaana' on behalf of citizens, on Sunday January 3 at Town
Hall in city. Mayor Jacintha Alfred will preside over the occasion, said Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, President of Kalkura Prathistana.
 
Kalkura was addressing the press meet at press club here on Friday January 1.
 
He also said that "Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji will be taken in a massive procession from Sharavu temple to town hall with music and cultural teams. District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, Jithikamanada Swamiji of Ramakrishnashram, Udupi in-charge minister Vinaya Kumar Sorake,Former Union minister Oscar Fernandes, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, State ministers U T Khader, Abaychandra Jain, MLAs JR Lobo, Moideen Bhava, MLCs Captain Ganesh Karnik, Ivan D'Souza, Deputy Mayor Purushotham Chitrapur and other representatives will take part in this programme.
 
Sri Vijayendra Acharaya of Poornaprajna Vidhyapita will present congratulatory speech.
 
He also said that various institutions will be provided opportunity to felicitate and honour Swamiji. There will be cultural programme also by various dance institutions.
 
On this occasion corporator Shashidhar Hegde, MB Puranik and others were present.
