Mangaluru, Dec 19: C S Radhika, a resident of Kulaigudda near here, has been chosen for maiden Mangalore Press Club award for the year 2015.
A selection committee chaired by Prof B A Vivek Rai with Sadananda Suvarna and Prof Rita Noronha as members, has chosen Radhika for the above award.
Radhika has been operating ambulance service in the city. She herself owns and drives ambulance, and at present, owns ten ambulances. The committee chose Radhika considering her unique choice of occupation, strong desire to lead self reliant life, entrepreneurship, self confidence and also that she did all this being a woman.
Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Dr S D Sharanappa, will be conferring the award to Radhikaa at Mangalore Press Club Day celebration being held at Urwa church auditorium on the evening of December 22. The award comprises Rs 10,001 in cash, citation, and memento, said general secretary of the Press Club, Guruvappa N T Balepuni, in a release.
