Udupi, Dec 9: A day's training camp for district Mahila Morcha, was held at BJP town office, here on Tuesday December 8.





Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar addressing the attendees said, "Training helps in building up personality along with growth of the nation. There is a lot of scope for women to enter into politics are taking place."

He added, "At present the government has placed power in the hands of women. A woman should not be restricted to domestic chores. Equal treatment of men and women is not in our culture. Women are venerated. They are given 50% reservation in local bodies and 33% reservation within the party. He said, the government is trying to introduce gender equality."

Sunil commented that party workers should behave themselves and they must be honest to their party. A political leader must know about his locality before he takes another step.

He enquired about how many of the party workers have become successful leaders. People should think of becoming leaders and not followers.

Condemning the increasing crime rate he said that nearly 2,800 girls went missing from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Gulbarga is known for highest trafficking of the girl child. Hence, there is need to think about the betterment of women in a big way.

Thingale Vikramarjauna Hedge, district party president, Shyamala Kundar, state BJP secretary, Sheela K Shetty, district president, Mahila Morcha and other members were present.
