Mangaluru, Dec 5: A ten day long Novena was inaugurated on December 4 as preparations for annual feast at the Pompei mother church, Urva. The Novena from December 4 to December 12 will be held at 5.30 pm everyday on all weekdays except on Saturday and Sunday when it will be held at 5 pm.

The Novena consists of sermons by different priests on different subjects, special prayers for the sick, mass and blessings.

The annual feast will be held on December 13. Mangaluru Bishop will be the main celebrant of the mass on the feast day.

In the inauguration held on December 4, parish priest Fr Stany Pereira, assistant parish priest Fr Amith Rodrigues, Fr Jeevan Sequeira, Fr Valerian Rodrigues, vice president of the pastoral council Hilary D’Souza, secretary Jeniv Mathais, former vice president Kevin Martis and Four Winds mass communication
organization’s director E Fernandes, were present.
