Chikkamagaluru, Nov 27: A boy from Chowlihiriyoor in Kadur taluk in the district hanged himself and gave up his life, angered by the advice of his parents to attend his classes regularly. Ranganath (15), son of Basavarajappa, a coolie by profession, ended his life in this manner on Wednesday November 25.

Out of Basavarajappa's two sons, younger son, Ranganath, happened to be a SSLC student. Since about a month, the boy was showing reluctance to attend school, and missed many classes. On Wednesday morning, both the parents counselled with their son and asked him to attend his school regularly.

Frustrated at this advice, the boy went to the house of a neighbor located opposite his house, and entered the house from the rear door. There was no one at that house at that time. He used a sari and hanged himself from the beam of the roof there. A report of unnatural death was thereafter registered in Yagati police station.
