New Delhi, Oct 31 (IANS): Leading tobacco maker Godfrey Phillips India reported Rs.50 crore net profit for second quarter of 2015-16, registering a whopping 52 percent annual growth from Rs.33 crore in same period year ago.
In a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Saturday, the city-based flagship firm of the diversified K.K. Modi group said total income, however, grew marginally 2.1 percent to Rs.581 crore for the quarter under review (Q2) from Rs.569 crore in like period year ago.
Sequentially, net profit declined from Rs.54 crore and income 3.3 percent from Rs.601 crore posted in first quarter.
The company also has business interests in tea and confectionary.
