Swipe launches affordable 4G smartphone Elite 2

New Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS): Domestic handset and tablet-maker Swipe Technologies on Friday launched a new affordable 4G LTE-enabled smartphone - Elite 2 - in an exclusive partnership with Flipkart at a price of Rs.4,666.

"Elite has been a huge success for Swipe, and it was sold out on Flipkart in record time when the device was launched in August this year. For Indian customers, quality wins over everything else. Keeping this in mind, we are coming up with this exciting new offering," Shripal Gandhi, founder and chief executive of Swipe Technologies, said.

"We are also partnering with Uber to give free rides for preview for the tech-savvy, aspirational online customers to get their hands on this new device before placing the order online," Gandhi said, adding that the company planned to hold special preview for customers in select cities.

The new phone will be powered by a 64-bit 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM unit. The phone, which has an internal memory of 8 GB expandable up to 32 GB, will come with a eight-megapixel rear camera and five-megapixel front camera.

It will draw power from a 1,900 mAH battery and run proprietary Freedom operating system on Android Lollipop.
