British FTSE 100 decreases


London, Oct 20 (IANS): FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge decreased by 0.40 percent, or 25.71 points, to 6,352.33 points.

Share price of Shire increased by 2.33 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips, Xinhua reported on Monday.

Compass Group, Hammerson, Hikma Pharmaceuticals and Barclays, respectively, increased by 1.71 percent, 1.46 percent, 1.45 percent and 1.34 percent.

Anglo American led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 7.54 percent, followed by Glencore (5.86 percent), Fresnillo (3.29 percent), Antofagasta (3.28 percent) and BHP Billiton (3.05 percent).
