Sullia, Oct 19: Rider of a scooty died at Odabai here on Sunday October 18 after his two-wheeler got involved with collision involving a jeep. The rider lost his life on the spot.

It is learnt that the scooty was moving at high speed towards the town from Paichar when its rider tried to overtake a truck at Odbai. In the process, his vehicle collided with a jeep coming from the opposite direction. Muhammed was thrown to the road, due which he sustained grave injuries and lost his life on the spot. The scooty was badly mangled due to the impact of the accident.
The victim was the son of Muhammed Kunhi and Hajira from Madavu in Keyyoor. He was working as salesman at Bengaluru and had come here to attend the marriage of his elder sister scheduled for November 1. He had visited Paichar with his father for distributing marriage invitations, and was returning home after dropping his father off at Paichar.
The jeep, after the accident, fell into a storm drain. Driver of the vehicle, Bharat, and passengers, Chandravati, Sumitra, Harish and a baby named Lathan were injured. The injured passengers were travelling to Madappady from the town. The injured were taken to the government hospital in a private hospital.
