Mangaluru, Oct 18: “The present generation, which feels proud to say that they are Beary people, stresses the need for the religious tolerance. The work of Beary academy in this regard is praiseworthy,” said MLA B A Moideen on Saturday, October 17.
Moideen was speaking in a programme on ‘Beary women, literature and cultural celebrations’ organized as part of Beary language observation month at Krishnapura near here.
“Cultural celebration should be meaningful without any emphasis for only entertainment and unnecessary spending.” Moideen added.
Ummarabba the registrar of Beary Sahithya academy welcomed. Abdul Hameed Golthamajal compered. Zohar Abbas proposed vote of thanks. Mariamma Krishnapura and Khathijamma Bejai were honoured during the programme.
