Man pressurizes son to marry girl of his choice, gets killed

Chikkaballapur, Oct 12: A youth, who did not want to marry a girl chosen by his father, got angry and killed his father after the latter insisted on accepting the said girl as his wife.

The incident occurred at Talahalli in the taluk on the night of Saturday October 10. Venkateshappa (55), who used to work as daily wager, lost his life in this incident.

Venkateshappa had made inquiries and chosen a girl as his would-be daughter-in-law. But Shankarappa was not agreeable. There was verbal altercation between the father and son over this issue. In a fit of rage, Shankarappa hit his father's head with a pestle. Venkateshappa, who suffered serious injuries and was bleeding profusely, was taken to district hospital. After primary treatment there, he was shifted to NIMHANS Bengaluru. But he died there, without responding to treatments, policemen said.

Interestingly, Venkateshappa had five wives. Out of them, two had died in the past. He had four children, and Shankarappa was the son of his second wife, it is gathered. Venkateshappa lived with his second wife's son, Shankarappa, and fifth wife, it is learnt.

    why was father pressuring son to marry the Girl he has Chosen?Father self married five times?bit suspicious.Now who married that Girl?son or father had already?NO one should put pressure to marry one whom they dont like or give time.Marriage is not a game.Anyway father has lost his life and game.Now son should see that what he will answer before Jury?
