Bengaluru, Oct 9: The first additional chief metropolitan magistrate (ACMM) court here has instructed Sri Raghaveshwara Swamiji of Ramachandrapur Math, who is facing rape charges filed by Premalata Shastri, to be present at the court during the hearing on Friday October 9.
The court issued summons, after the criminal investigation department (CID)filed charge sheet in the first rape case filed against the Swamiji. At the same time, the sessions court has posted the petition filed by CID seeking cancellation of bail granted to Swamiji, to October 16. The CID officials say that they had served notice to the Swamiji to make himself available for three tests that are mandatory in rape cases including potency test, but the Swamiji, by not being present for the tests, had violated bail conditions.
The government advocates also said that witnesses in the case are being threatened by the accused, adding that because of the bail, investigation is not progressing fast. Advocate for the Swamiji sought 20 days time for filing reply to these issues, but the court granted only eight days, duly posting the case to October 16.
