Mangaluru , Oct 7: Demanding to drop the proposed 'Yettinahole project', Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV), Dakshina Kannada district unit organized a protest rally from Jyothi circle to DC’s office here on Wednesday, October 7.
Speaking on the occasion, Pramod Ballal Bagh said, “The Nethravathi river is important to everyone irrespective of caste and creed. All political parties and organizations should join hands to save the river. If the project is materialized, people of the district will suffer and draught may hit this city”.
Spokesperson of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Rahim Uchil, said, “Though it was raining, the activists have taken part in the protest demanding to stop the proposed project. Unnecessarily, the government is spending crores of rupees in the project and the government should take responsibility of ill effects of the project. Today’s protest is a symbolic protest and in future, organization will organize severe protest against the project”.
Arun Kumar, Nazir Hasain Bengre, Jagadish Arasu, Madhusudhan and others were present during the protest rally.
