Mumbai, Oct 6: Actor Vicky Kaushal who was part of the cast of Masaan which shown at Cannes and received huge praise, has had history repeat for him with his film Zubaan which opened the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). It's also the first time that a Bollywood movie has opened the star-studded film fiesta, more so one that was done by a debutant.
Kim Ji-Seok, the director of BIFF explained that he had chosen Zubaan for its beautiful music, therapeutic story and his faith in Guneer Monga and Shaan Vyas who have produced the movie under the banner of Sikhya Entertainment. The gala night was witness to director Mozez Singh's heartfelt speech in which he introduced his cast of Vicky Kaushal, Sarah- Jane Dias and Raghav Chanana along with music composer Ashu Pathak.
Given that BIFF is Asia's most prominent festival, it had top Korean actors, directors, along with many stars from Hollywood making an appearance on its red carpet. Mozez Singh's skillful direction coupled with the music and the performances laced into the film, a lot of praise came its way from all quarters. Mozez also won the award of the Rising Director Award at the Asia Star Awards.
