Mumbai, Jul 19: Amidst reports of Amitabh Bachchan sending a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh offering to surrender agricultural land he had acquired in Pune, the Chief Minister's Office on Thursday said it had not received any such communication.
"The CM's Office has not received any such letter. So far, the only information we have about the matter is only based on a report that appeared in the media today," an official in the CM's Office said.
The report had quoted that Bachchan was 'sick and tired' of reports and legal battles surrounding the land he had acquired near Pavna dam in Pune district some years ago by using his status as a farmer.
"Bachchan has requested that the 5.31 hectares of land owned by him and his son Abhishek near the dam be donated to farmers who originally owned the land," the report said.
