Kundapur, Oct 1: “The alley that existed near Kodi seashore road in Koteshwar Grama panchayat limits for many years is illegally occupied.
The complaints to Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Tahsildar requesting to get that vacated have been futile”, alleged former Koteshwar Grama Panchayat president and social leader Kariya Devadiga.
Speaking in a Press Conference held in Kundapur Press Club on Oct 1, he said that the ancient Alley was 5-6 feet broad. “After the transgression it is reduced to 1 feet. The Panchayat well also is located close by and the way is necessary to go there. The matter is discussed in the Panchayat also. Disha D Pai has requested for no objection letter for land conversion and we have submitted our objection putting forth the likely convenience to the people”, he said.
“The area of 0.02 acres under survey number 162/1A1C which is meant for way is also occupied blocking the flow of rain water. The objection that it will damage the crop is submitted in front of the meeting of Panchayat social justice committee”, he said.
“The department of revenue should understand the problems, mark all the concerned land boundaries, vacate the occupied area, mark the Alley and waterways, take approval of the maps from concerned authority and take further action”, he added.
Ramachandra Nayak Koteshwara speaking on the occasion asked to first vacate the Alley and then get the land conversion done. Karnataka agricultural labourers district secretary Venkatesha Koni was present.
