Kasargod, Sep 27: Police are questioning Bandyodu Pachambala resident Sharif(42) the kingpin of Kudlu bank robbery. He has confessed that out of the robbed gold, he has sold gold worth Rs 7.5 lac in Goa.
Sharif who is in judicial custody has been handed over in the custody of investigating team for five days. The investigating team is collecting information by taking the accused to different places.
Sharif has disclosed that he has handed over Rs 2 lac to accomplice Karim and that Karim has taken a flight from Goa to Ludhiana. Out of the remaining cash, he has given Rs 3 .5lac to another person in Mumbai.
He has used the remaining Rs 2 lac to repay loans in his home town. He had taken loan from several people. Sharif will be in police custody till September 28. Police have accompanied him to Mangaluru, Goa and his home town and collected information.
The Police team has gone to Goa to identify gold sold by the suspect. Police had recovered 7.109 kg gold from the house of Sharif. Police
have suspected that the remaining gold is with another suspect, Mujib. Mujib is still absconding.
The group had entered Kudlu service cooperative bank and robbed 21 kgs gold and Rs 13 lacs in cash in broad day light.
