Paris, Sep 23 (IANS): With Javier Pastore, Angel Di Maria and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all grabbing their first goals of the season, champions Paris Saint-Germain trounced Guingamp 3-0 to lead Ligue 1 the standings.
The home victory on Tuesday for PSG was their first win in three matches after two disappointing draws with Bordeaux and Reims in previous league meetings, reports Xinhua.
Starting strongly as expected, the hosts opened scoring in the 18th minute when Pastore latched on to Ibrahimovic's through ball before beating Guingamp goalkeeper Jonas Lossl with a clinical finish.
With 13 minutes left to play, PSG got a second goal as Lossl spilled Ibrahimovic's effort after he was fed in by Marco Verratti before Di Maria pounced to wrap up the points.
There was still time for the hosts to add a third and miss a penalty when Ibrahimovic latched on to Di Maria's through ball before slotting it beyond Lossl.
Guingamp, who came into the clash on the back of three successive wins without conceding a goal, remain in eighth as the victory sent PSG four points clear at the top for 24 hours at least.
Also on Tuesday, Reims extended their unbeaten run to four matches after drawing goalless at Angers.
Both teams have 12 points but the fourth-placed Reims stood one spot above Angers on goal difference.
