Rio De Janeiro, Sep 19 (IANS): New Fluminense coach Eduardo Baptista on Friday vowed to give Ronaldinho "the attention he deserves" as the former Barcelona star struggles to adapt to life at his new club.
Ronaldinho is yet to score in six matches since joining the Rio de Janeiro outfit in July, reports Xinhua news agency.
On Wednesday, the 35-year-old was an unused substitute in Fluminense's 4-1 home loss to Palmeiras, a result that cost coach Enderson Moreira his job.
"Ronaldinho carries weight, he is a player of extreme quality," said Baptista, who was appointed on Thursday.
"He will get the attention he deserves. I have already spoken briefly with him and he showed himself very willing to help."
Fluminense are currently ninth in Brazil's Serie A standings with 33 points from 23 matches.
Baptista's first match in charge of the team will be an away trip to Ponte Preta in the Serie A on Saturday.
