Mangaluru: Man arrested for forging Aadhaar cards, court documents

Mangaluru, Jan 2: The Mangaluru North Police have arrested a man for allegedly forging Aadhaar cards and creating fake documents to act as a surety for accused individuals in court cases.

The accused, identified as K Ummarabba Maidheen (63), was taken into custody on December 31. According to police, the accused used counterfeit Aadhaar cards to generate fraudulent documents and posed as a guarantor for individuals facing trial in various cases.

The case, registered under Crime Number 141/2023 at Mangaluru North Police Station, involves multiple charges under sections 464, 465, 466, 468, 471, and 474 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The arrest was carried out under the guidance of Mangaluru city police commissioner and deputy police commissioner, with supervision from the assistant police commissioner of the central subdivision. The operation was led by the inspector of Mangaluru North police station, supported by the station’s PSI and staff.

The accused, a resident of Chandranagar, Kalathur Post, Kaup taluk, Udupi district, will be produced before the court.
