Mangaluru, Sep 15: United Christian Association held a foundation laying ceremony for constructing a new house for Vidyadani Harekala Hajabba at Hajabba's hometown Harekala on Sunday, September 13.
Sri Eesha Vitaldas Swamiji Sandipani Sadhanashrama from Kemaru Kshestra, Fr J B Saldanha, parish priest of Permannur church, Harekala mosque Khazi Sharif Khadi Nandavara and health minister U T Khadar were present during the foundation stone laying ceremony.
Harekala Hajabba who is popularly known as Akshara Yogi of the coastal region has spent his entire earnings from his small time profession for the education of poor children without thinking of his own shelter. His present house has become old and fragile and about to collapse. United Christian association has come forward taking the initiative to build a well-equipped house for him.
