Mangaluru, Sep 14: Rahim (28), who was riding a motor bike, and who was injured after his two-wheeler got involved in a collision with a Scoprio four-wheeler on Saturday September 12, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday September 13. The accident had occurred on Tannirbavi Road at Panambur.
Rahim was travelling towards Tanirbavi with a person named Abubakker in the pillion, when the accident occurred with a Scorpio that approached the vehicle from the opposite direction. Abubakker is being treated in a hospital here. The accident occurred near Indian Oil facility at Tannirbavi.
It is gathered that Rahim, who suffered injuries at several places, was bleeding, and there was delay in providing medical care to him. He was lying uncared on the road, and the policemen, who arrived later, arranged to shift him to a private hospital, it is said. Some locals expressed the opinion that Rahim would have survived if he was treated promptly, as he had lost lot of blood before being taken to hospital.
It is gathered that Rahim used to work at the dock at the Old Port area in the city. A case about the accident was registered in the city (north) traffic police station.
