Karwar: LPG tanker explosion at Bargi - toll rises to 11

Karwar, Sep 11: The number of people who lost their lives in the tragedy which occurred at Bargi village near Kumta recently after a gas tanker tumbled into a gorge and gas leaked from the tanker caught fire and exploded, has gone up to 11.

Till September 6, ten persons who had been shifted to Manipal with serious injuries, had lost their lives. The condition of the other four was stated to be stable. But Devu Chandru Patgar (75) died on Thursday September 10.

Out of the 14 persons with grave injuries who were shifted to Manipal hospital for treatment, three continue to be treated at the hospital. They are said to be recovering. They are, driver of the tanker, Amit Kumar Raj Kumar (26), who suffered fracture after falling out during the accident, Subrayaa Jattu Patgar (60) from near Bargi, and Ganapati Nagappa Patgar (53).
