Mangalore, Jun 29: The muhurtam of new Konkani play 'Bonglo' by Nellu Permannur was held here on Thursday June 28 evening.
Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Eric Ozario, Mandd Sobhann president Louis Pinto, Stany Alvares, Lawrence Pinto, Praveen Tauro, Panchu Bantwal, Melita Pinto and Jyothi Lasrado were present on the occasion.
The programme began with a prayer after which playwright Nellu Permannur briefed about the play and handed over directorial rights to Alwyn Veigas.
The play will be staged for the first time on August 5 evening at the monthly theatre at Kalaangann. Among the guests those present on the occasion Eric Ozario, Panchu Bantwal and Praveen Tauo wished all the best to the play and team. Panchu Bantwal also booked two shows, the first one on September 8 at Loretto and the second one at Bantwal in October.
Felix Lasrado, Naveen Lobo, Stephen Mathias, Abraham, David D'Souza, Shaktinagar, Annu, Shawn Rodrigues, Canie Bendore, Leena Crasta Vamanjoor, Celine D'Souza, Kulshekar and Dimple Pinto Ashoknagar were also present.
The play highlights about those marriages wherein either of the party hides the actual truth for some reason and arranges for marriage even when the bride and bridegroom are not aware of it.
Stephen Mathias welcomed the gathering, proposed the vote of thanks and compered the programme.
