Doha: Roy Castelino to grace MCC Monthi Fest celebration

Doha, Sep 6: Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), the premier forum that unites Mangaloreans living in Qatar has been in the forefront of preserving and nourishing culture. It is with this motto and with the intention of enhancing fraternal bonds among the Mangaloreans, MCC has been celebrating feast of Nativity every year with the sharing of new corns, the first fruits of the nature through annual Novem Jevann.

MCC will be celebrating Monthi fest on Friday September 11 at 5.30 pm at the Al Jazeera Academy. The highlight of the evening will be the sharing of the blessed corn and partaking in the home-cooked meal, as a family.

Roy Castelino, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will grace this event as chief guest. He has also been the president of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan and former president of Rachana. He is a trustee of Sandesha Foundation, and director of Kalaangann apart from being executive member of Mandd Sobhan. He also heads Roy Constructions.

Fr Anand Castelino, OFM, the spiritual director of Qatar Konkani speaking community will be the guest of honour on the occasion.

In addition, MCC will also be felicitating outstanding members for their selfless service and outstanding contribution to the society Mangalurean students who have excelled in academics studies in 2014-2015 and winners of talent competitions, MCC throwball and khokho champions.

MCC extends the invitation to all Mangalureans in Qatar to join the Monthi Fest celebration as one family.
