Mangalore, Jun 28: The Eritrean Shipping Company will send representatives to the city from its branches in Dubai, Eritrea and some from India also on Friday June 29.
In a response to the letter sent by New Mangalore Port, the company has said that the Atlantic Shipping has been authorised to send back the survivors and the bodies of the deceased.
With regard to the disposal of the DenDen shipwreck, NMP has contacted Protection and Indemnity Club and has appointed James McIntosh Company Ltd and Mumbai-based J B Boda Company to be represntative of the Club.
The representatives will conduct a survey following which NMP will send a letter to the shipping company regarding the disposal of the ship; in case there is no response, the ship will be disposed of without causing any harm to the environment.
Further, the on-going survey by the Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) is expected to end soon and the report will be submitted in three weeks' time to the ministry of shipping, road transport and highways.
