Bengaluru, Aug 27: About 30 lecturers from north Karnataka staged protest against former minister and Chikkamagaluru MLA, C T Ravi, alleging that he had cheated them of their money. The protest demonstration was held opposite a resort near Yalahanka in the city where BJP is holding two-day state level training to its legislators.
The lecturers came together as they knew that several top leaders of BJP including C T Ravi would be present at this party programme. They said that Ravi had collected money from them, duly promising them appointments in the form of lecturers in aided diploma colleges.
The protesters claimed that during the regime of the BJP government in the state, C T Ravi, who was higher education minister, had collected money from them by promising to provide them permanent employments in aided diploma colleges. They said they have since lost both jobs and money, and demanded immediate refund of their money. They also raised slogans against Ravi.
The BJP leaders, sensing that media persons were approaching the protesters, hustled the protesters inside the resort, sources added.
