Oman, Aug 24: August 28 will be another golden letter day for the Mangalurean Catholic Centre of the parish (MCCP) of Muscat, Oman, as the much awaited inaugural function of the 24th year will be held on this day at Sts Peter & Paul Church, Ruwi.
The newly appointed committee headed by John F Gonsalves as president will be installed in a glittering function. The inaugural function is expected to be a high point in terms of entertainment quotient for the Mangalurean Catholic Community in Muscat as it will include a mix of cultural programmes, talent shows and lots of fun and frolic.
MCCP is entering into the 24th year of its existence; the new executive committee which has taken charge to run the affairs for the year 2015-16 has been hailed as ‘MCCP team 24’. This team consists of highly committed and enthusiastic individuals who are determined to take MCCP to greater heights. They along with the support of a large number of dedicated members are preparing themselves to present the inaugural function in a befitting grandiose manner.
The man-in-charge, John Gonsalves, is very upbeat and expressed his satisfaction at the preparations underway for the function. He requested that all Mangalurean Catholic community members be present in big numbers to express their support and solidarity to the new executive committee. He elaborated that the new committee is especially keen to bring in new members and engage them in various activities in order to broaden the horizons of MCCP. To welcome and enrol new members, special registration counters will be kept at the inaugural function venue.
On Friday August 28, events will begin with Holy Mass at Sts Peter & Paul Church, Ruwi at 10.00 am, followed by a cultural programme from 11.45 am. It is evident that the Mangalurean Catholic community is gearing up for a day that would make the 24th year of MCCP a memorable one.
