Mangaluru, Aug 17: The new showroom of LG Shoppe-Malaika Household Appliances, a household name in Mumbai, was inaugurated at Chilimbi here on August 17.
Ashok Babu, LG regional manager inaugurated the showroom. J R Lobo, MLA Mangaluru South who was the chief guest on the occasion, lit the lamp and parish priest of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Urwa Fr Stany Pereira blessed the showroom.
Gilbert Baptist, managing director of Malaika Group welcomed the gathering and said, "We started off in Mumbai in a 60 sq ft area by manufacturing small electronic components. Today we have grown to a 60,000 sq ft area in Mumbai. We have 18 stores in Mumbai and 5 in Mangaluru. We aspire to start more showrooms. More than making profits, we want to provide employment opportunities. We already have 150 employees in Mangaluru."
J R Lobo said, "Anyone who starts a business in Mangaluru will be successful. Malaika Group has been expanding its business in this region and I am sure it will succeed in its latest venture too. The people of Mangaluru will definitely support Malaika Group. I was part of the inauguration of its Thokkottu store and people of that region have supported it. I wish it sets up more showrooms in Mangaluru."
Mohiuddin Bava, MLA Mangaluru North said, "I congratulate Malaika Group on this occasion. It has opened many stores in different parts of Mangaluru, and I wish it opens more stores in Suratkal and outskirts of Mangaluru. Malaika Group has been rendering good service to people. I wish the Group all success and hope that it achieves greater growth."
Fr Stany Periera said, "They say 'well begun is half done'. Malaika showroom has opened on a good note and I am sure that it will achieve manifold growth in the coming days."
Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred and Rajneesh also spoke and congratulated the Malaika Group.
