Aug 13 (Emirates 247): Recently his co-star Kareena Kapoor had mentioned that Salman Khan should be given the National Award for 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and that prompted Salman Khan to react. "No, I am not a star. Nor am I an actor.
"It is sweet of people to say that I should get awards, but I just feel that the story of that little girl is what people liked and identified with and were emotionally drawn towards it and that is the reason why the film has done well prompting reactions," says Khan.
Unlike earlier where he chose to be drawn into controversies and debates, Salman has chosen the easier route – humility at a time when his film has crossed Rs350 crores at the box office in India.
"I have had people tell me that they have seen the film over 4 times. That for me is bigger than getting a national award," he says.
Salman is also excited that the film has also won critical appreciation among his fans. "The film has not just gotten the appreciation from the audiences, but a lot of respect as well and that I think is the best part abut this film," says Salman.
For Pocket Hercules, the subject of non Pakistan bashing uynlike many other Bollywood films worked in the film.
"There are no terrorists in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. There is no army in the film. It is just another story about real people," says the actor, oops, star, no he is Salman Khan.
