Aug 13 (NDTV): Controversial 'godwoman' Radhe Maa is generating reams of headlines and, in a natural progression of sorts, a Bollywood producer reportedly wants to make a film about her. Ranjeet Sharma, the same filmmaker who is producing a film about Salman Khan's 72 hours in a Jodhpur jail in 2006, told Zoom that he has cast actress Mallika Sherawat in the lead in a planned biopic of the colourful and newsworthy Radhe Maa.
Except that Mallika herself says she isn't playing the self-proclaimed godwoman. In several tweets a few days ago, the 38-year-old actress vehemently denied she had signed to be the screen version of Radhe Maa:
Radhe Maa, dressed in red and gold bridal finery with a flower behind her ear and a trident in her hand, has prompted equal parts outrage and amusement on social media after pictures of her in a red miniskirt surfaced last week. A series of damaging revelations have since followed, including allegations of dowry harassment and of driving a family to suicide for failing to improve their lot as promised. A lawyer in Mumbai has petitioned the Bombay High Court to file an FIR against Radhe Maa, real name Sukhvinder Kaur and believed to be 50-years-old. She has now filed for anticipatory bail.
A Firstpost report says that Bigg Boss alumni Dolly Bindra and Rahul Mahajan have been approached for roles in the film.
Former devotee Dolly Bindra, who alleges that Radhe Maa and her associates are a threat to her and her family.
