Mangaluru: St Philomena College celebrates graduation day

Mangaluru, Aug 6: St Philomena first grade college for women, Hassan the only full fledged college for women in Karnataka managed by the Sisters of Charity Education Society, here, held its third graduation day on August 5 before a jam packed auditorium.













This year, 127 students graduated in commerce and business management.

The function began with lighting the lamp. David Kumar welcomed the gathering. Sr Marcelin Veigas presided over the function and administered the oath to the graduates.

Prof Edmund J B Frank, dean, PGDBM, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru was the chief guest. As a gesture of gratitude he was honoured by the management and the principal. He spoke about the significance of education and the choices they have to make and motivated the students to be enterprising in whatever they do. Fr Ronald Cardoza blessed the students. The dignitaries distributed the certificates to the graduating students. Sr Jasmine Correa, the principal of St Philomena’s along with the members of the staff ensured the successful organizing of the programme.

Vijay Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. The toppers of BBM and B Com were felicitated. Justina Patrick was the master of ceremonies.
