Mangaluru: Rehman Khan graces PACE convocation ceremony

Mangaluru, Aug 2: “Young minds should proceed with their dreams in order to achieve their aim as per the desires of late President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam. They should not be disheartened even if they fail several times along the way. Once we succeed, there is no question of looking back. So, hard work is necessary if we need to look at ourselves as achievers,” said K Rehman Khan, former deputy speaker, Lok Sabha,.

He was speaking during the convocation ceremony held at P A Engineering College premises in Nadupadavu near Konaje on Saturday August 1.

Minister of forests and district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, speaking on the occasion, said that degree holders should not be content only withh degrees considering it the only achievement, but should always remember the parents and the teachers who have struggled
for it.

Minister of health U T Khader said that degree holders are not the asset of parents alone but the wealth of the country. “They should contribute to the country. The country has to shine as a powerful nation on the world map and this cannot be done by officials who are sitting in AC rooms or people’s representatives. It can only be made possible by students on the playgrounds and classrooms,” he said.

P A Education Trust president Dr P A Ibrahim Haji presided over the programme. Former minister of education B A Mohidin, Professor Siraj Kasim J, Dr R G D’ Souza, K M Hanif, and P A Latif were present.

Dr Beeran Moidin of MBA department, Dr Krishna Prasad of bio technology department, Dr Rajesh G D’ Souza of civil engineering department, Dr Sharmila Kumari from CS/AS department, Professor Abdulla Gubbi from EC/TE department, and Dr M K Ramiz from mechanical engineering department read the names of students.

PA Engineering College executive director Abdulla Ibrahim welcomed. Masidi Imam Izuddin Kausari read ‘Qiraat’.

Principal Dr Abdul Sharif gave the keynote address. Vice principal Dr Ramiz M K proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Rashmi Kodikal and Professor Fayaz compered the programme.
