Udupi, Jul 30: The historic Hale Marigudi, Hosa Marigudi and Moorane Marigudi temples in Kaup held their annual feast ‘Atida Maripuja’ with devotional fervour, on Wednesday evening July 29.

The devotional programmes were held after installing the decorated idol of Mariyamma on a podium. The lightings in all the three temples were attractive.

The Kalavati Ati Maripuja procession of the deity was set in motion after installing the idol in the evening on July 28. The idol of Mariamma deity was later disbanded in a specified place.

Some of the devotees sacrificed animals in private and offered their blood in Suggi Maripuja. The number of sheep, goats and hen was less when compared to earlier years.

Tight security was provided under the leadership of Kaup police circle inspector Sunil Naika, Kaup police sub inspector Jagadish Reddy, Padubidri SI Ajmath Ali, Shirva SI Ashok P and crime SI Laxman.
