bus people own the roads these days! what the hell are the authorities doing? arent the department capable of controlling these "DEATH ON WHEELS"? The way they drive is just breath taking! and yes their hands are never off the horn switch! They got their timing etc etc is understandable but to meet that they gotta play off with someone else's life & patience? GOD SAVE OUR COUNTRY!

Though the government is busy making new roads and widening them, they have forgotten that there are still people who travel by foot, and the newly concreted roads have no space for people to walk and ride cycles. I feel there should be a 5ft lane considering the people who still travel by foot and of course the bicycles also… God bless you Amog with good health.

Unless you act sternly now, it is going to be " Now or never, we will face this music and our youth will be victims of these Killer drivers " !!

The number of accidents/deaths caused by buses in Mangalore is just shocking to say the least. Errant drivers and bus owners should be taken to task in a manner which drives the message to all the bus drivers to STOP driving rashly.

why is there no 'Boycott Private Buses' protest?
We have seen all kind of protests in mangalore for stupid reasons(teacher slapping student)
All students, govt. and private employees who use bus on a daily basis should boycott buses and come on the streets and protest.Resume your job/classes only after govt starts running ksrtc buses.Bring the govt. to its knees.Without its employees the govt cannot function.Tell the govt you will only come to work in govt buses which are safer than these murdering buses.
Make it a big issue and get the national media involved.

These are daily occurrences. A bus hitting a youngster from behind appears to be a lapse on the part of the bus driver.

It is time that speed governors are fitted on all buses as a measure of safety to people.

Driver must be arrested soon and punished for rash Driving.

At the same time parents must be questioned " why they are allowing him to go in bicycle from bejai kapikad to Hathill... Its too far and cant imagine in concrete roads"

Once again we will have lots of desperate comments and no action for stopping the private buses and their 'competition menace' (which will put the formula 1 racers to shame!!) ...and more sacrifices of blood to follow!

The competition among private vs private vs government buses made the buses like yamadoothas, their hastiness in rushing or overtaking other vehicles resulting in accidents and deaths. It is high time to take measures to control the buses and save lives

Daijiworld just like you all helped in the OLA-TAXI cab thing.
Start a petition or try something like the cops stop supporting the bus drivers.
If they din't support them? Why do they still drive RASH?Can't we start fining over speeding in city limits for everyone? Honking unnecessarily?
Arrest and cancel the bus licence thats it.
Example:Coming down nanthoor road to chefs,it's a 2 lane road and now it has become a bottleneck thanks to the unfinshed 4 lane road ending near balall garage, you should be at 30-40 coming down that steep curve, these retarded bus drivers start honking, if you do not move they overtake. What can be the solution to this?

Very Sad incident. In this case it may be bus drivers fault, but route Timings, Bad competition, route overlap, traffic congestion everything also have to be blamed.

Generally speaking one can't blame only the drivers, Parents shall show the responsibility. Request to all Parents: please be serious about road safety. Kindly requesting, don't allow minor ones to take main road on their own esp. on two wheeler/Bicycle etc. Tender minds are unable to judge and act to the Rash/ Speedy driving of the Buses/Trucks. be cautious about the hazards on road.

    "Safety begins at Home"

Praying for the boy's speedy recovery.

Hope the boy recovers. If our traffic police instead of catching people without seatbelts, start catching over speeding buses in the city, such things can be avoided. Media should be asking police commissioner on how many cases of speeding were recorded by the traffic cops compared to other traffic violations

I still do not understand why the DC is not implementing strict speed limits within the city. There are accidents everyday the only reason is speeding.
Let there be more speed breakers, let the traffic move slow within the city limits. Subject the defaulters to heavy fines.
Bye the way CongrASS and left parties are opposing the Land transportation Bill put forward by BJP govt!!

    Overspeed
    Competition

This is my neighbours brand new bus.
Owner and his family are very good people in our society.
Mishap happens. Cant really blame the bus driver or the bus.

That driver who looks pensive is driving buses on our route for more than 18 years.

Some accidents happens coz of sheer negligence and some happen even though your an expert and cautious driver. Thts why its called ACCIDENT.

    Get well soon Kid!

Why blame the drivers... the real culprits are the 'powerful' bus owners lobby which puts undue pressure on the drivers for 'collection' ...it is a question of 'daily bread' for the drivers and 'risk of life' for people... and PROFITS for the bus owners... Now let us forget all this and keep quiet till the next accident...
