Mangaluru, Jul 22: 'Kanasu Kannu Teredaga', a children's movie in Kannada directed by debutant Santhosh Shetty Kateel and produced by Ganasiri Kiran Kumar (Ganasiri Creations) and Thammana Shetty (Manikya Combines) under the banner of Imagination Movies, is all set to release on Friday July 24 at Suchitra theatre in K S Rao Road here.
This was revealed by producer of the film, Thammana Shetty in a press meet held at hotel Sri Ram Bhavan, Jeppu Morgan's Gate here on Tuesday July 21.
Thammana Shetty said, "The film is all set to release on July 24 in 40 theatres across the state. The film has talented debut actors and technicians. The story of the film is based on garbage problems dogging the society and the impression cast on children's minds at schools and homes. The story itself is the hero of the film. We want to give the message that cleaning an area and throwing the garbage at another place is not the solution for the problem. The message from the film will motivate kids to step up and take action. I request everyone to come and see the film and make it a grand success."
'Kanasu Kannu Theredaga' tells the story of two young boys Sanju and Manju, the former born into a wealthy family and the latter into a poverty stricken household. The film takes a symbolic look at the lives of two boys who are raised under different classes of the society and how they inspire each other with the help of a Mad Professor to succeed in their goal of making the city clean. The movie is full of dramatic play, action and comedy.
The film is written and directed by Santhosh Shetty Kateel, who has also wirtten the screenplay, and produced by Ganasiri Kiran Kumar and Thamanna Shetty. Assistant director of the film is Nagesh Puttur; the cinematography is by Sachin S Shetty, lyrics by Razak Puttur, music by Yashwanth Udupi, and background score by Nithin Kumar. Pradeep Roy is the art director, while Raviraj Ganiga is the design and creative head.
More that 30 children have acted in the film, who were chosen among the thousand who came for audtions. The movie was shot at locations like Puttur, Sullia and Mangaluru. The uniqueness of the film is that all the actors, technicians and artistes are from Mangaluru, thus making it the first locally-made Kannada film.
Producer Ganasiri Kiran Kumar, Razak Puttur, child actors Maithri, Mahalasa, and others were present at the press meet.
