Mangaluru: Missing school girl found looking for work at Mallikatta

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MD/DV)

Mangaluru, Jul 21: The school girl from Nagori here who had gone missing on the evening of Monday July 20 has been found.

Chaitra (13), a student of Capitanio High School, had left from home on Monday evening saying she was going to tuitions.

The CCTV footage at Garodi temple captured her entering the premises in uniform and leaving in casual clothes. It also showed her taking a city bus. Her uniform and school were found in an alley by a lady, after which her disappearance came to light.

It is said that the girl had knocked at the doors of some residents at Mallikatta and asked for job, claiming that she was from Bagalkot and that her parents had passed away. One of the residents of the area, growing suspicious, informed the authorities.

The girl was then taken by the officials of Childline and brought to the Bala Samrakshana Mandir at Bondel. Initially, there was confusion about the identity of the girl, as she claimed that her parents were dead. Moreover, Chaitra's parents too hail from Bagalkot.

However, after some investigation, it was confirmed that it was the same girl. Police sources said that the girl is presently with Childline and would be handed over to the police and then to her parents soon.

Official sources at Childline said that the girl had fought with her sister, and the latter had told her in anger to leave home, hence she did so.

Everyone on this earth wants peace of mind and love. Love cannot be substituted by money or things. And in some cases, poverty would be a problem. and sometimes parents could be rude, comparing their child with that of any other's or to ones own siblings. At some times, drunken father destroys the peace of entire family and creates daily nuisance. Having these kind of family environments and some lack of peace from schools too may lead to take step for independence.
WHO OVER HERE DOESN"T WANT TO BE INDEPENDENT?? We all, isn't it? We do not know what has gone wrong for this child to go out and hunt a job, but everyone on earth has some or the other problems, and everyone will try to take easy way (Generally).ALL I WANT TO SAY HERE IS THAT IT NEED NOT BE PARENTS ARE ALWAYS CORRECT AND THE GIRLS ARE ALWAYS WRONG (GENERALLY).

Main reason for her seeking a job should be poverty (she needed a job). In the meantime, it is quite clear from her actions that at thirteen she has developed good brains quite smart.
Thank God she had not fallen in the hands of some bad guys and is safe. She should be kept under close watch by the parents in the future.

The other day a boy of thirteen cycled 30 Kilometers and lied in different ways with his parents. Wow !

Thank God the CCTV footage came in handy for investigations and hence also proved she herself planned everything. In absence of CCTV footage, some CAPS LOCKS would have been very active blaming every other person!

Thank God she is found and safe.what would have happened when she knocked on the wrong door and ?Something must have made the Girl to leave house, not only the quarrel with sister. At this Age parents should be very careful when some misunderstanding arises.was the quarell really with sister or mother?she needed Money?we dont know .but hope she will rmain and dont try again to go away.Childs mind and poverty makes them to undertake adventures.magu, dont do it again.Always when you have Problems first go to your parents and ask them.running away is not a solution.stay with them.and finish your studys.and you will be a fine Girl one day.

    Ella OK...
Uniform change maadi bEre dress haakidhdhu Yaake???

That means criminal mind is working behind her mind...
She wanted to hide her identitiy. Uniform would have revealed her identity as Capitanio student...

She was looking for a job as per report and why cant RCRB read properly before passing senseless comments. She cannot look for a job in a school uniform and moreover she wanted to hide her identity by saying she hails from Bagalghot and that is why this disguise. As many readers pointed out it is the helpless state of the girl like poor conditions, being subjected to cruelty or some other compelling reasons drove the girl to beg for a job. Let RCRB be sympethatic and contribute some money and appeal to all readers to do the same and let us hand over the same to her family and make sure it is spent for completing her studies. If there is an appeal, i too will support.

Agreed to you, as one side of the story...

Another side of analysis is as below: Whoever looking for the job in the world do not say "parents dead"... If she wanted to work, probably her father would have done arrangement accordingly. Why she did not take that path? On other side, if the parents are so bad, they would have discontinued her education long back and made her to work somewhere.

If she had gone to wrong hands and ended in rape and murder, then who should take responsibility? After that her parents got heart attack by hearing such bad things, who will take care of siblings?
Age 13 and 8th standard is quite sufficient to think that much and own some responsibility.

High possibility that the 'home environment' was not peaceful and loving hence this young teenager made a decision of standing on her own feet!!

BTW, there have been several such instances across the various metros where teenage children runaway in search of becoming film stars or even to meet their favorite film stars or to make a living and stand on their own feet not knowing the dangers of such elopement!!

This teenager is lucky she did not travel to some far off place and fall into the wrong hands who are on the prowl mostly at busy places especially in metro cities!! Jai Mangluru

This girl does not realize the horror she has come out from. She is young and will later realize what would have happened had she fallen in the wrong hands. Kids as young as 1 year old are not spared let alone a 13 year old. Why do kids of this generation take rash decisions and behave so irresponsibly. Our times were different, even after getting canned left right center we never thought of leaving or eloping anywhere. Our house was our safe heaven and still is.
