Udupi, Jul 18: Padubidri police who were on patrol have arrested a person who was suspiciously roaming around. It was subsequently learnt that he was involved in a theft case and had been planning to strike again. The police later produced him in the court.
Police sub inspector Ajmath Ali, staff Amrathesh and Jeevan were patrolling on Saturday morning when they found Prakash Bahadur (42) of Nepal origin suspiciously walking with a bag in his hands. Police took him into custody and questioned him but he failed to give clear answers.
Bahadur was later taken to the police station after that for questioning where his plans for theft came to light. A torch, cutting pliers, a rod to break locks and two body sprays were found in his bag. On further questioning, he admitted that he had broken the shutter lock of Sumangala Super Bazar in Padubidri market on July 13 and stolen petty cash and items from there.
The accused was employed in Abbedi nursery near Padubidri three years ago and later worked as a Goorka. He is now working with his wife in a scrap shop in Udyavar.
A case stands registered in Padubidri Police station and Bahadur has been produced in Udupi court.
