Man from Sirsi goes missing during hospital visit

Mangaluru, Jul 17: A missing complaint stands filed at Ullal police station here about an old man who came from Sirsi. The complaint mentions that a farmer from Sirsi, who had come here for undergoing medical examination, had disappeared from the hospital premises.

Kanna Bashiya Naik (80), resident of Arehalla village in Siddapur taluk, Uttara Kannada district, had come to a private hospital at Deralakatte here on Thursday July 16 for undergoing medical tests. After blood and urine samples were provided at the hospital laboratory for tests, Naik's son had left to collect test reports when the old man went missing, it is learnt.

CCTV footage at the hospital showed Naik boarding a private bus. When questioned, bus staff said that Naik had got down from the bus at Thokkottu.

Naik happens to be an active farmer, having been identified as an excellent farmer in his region. He can converse in Kannada. Ullal police have requested those having any information about him to contact either Ullal police station, or cell phone numbers, 9448243932 or 8762572322 of his relatives.
