Mangaluru, Jul 15: 'Sangama Sambhrama-2015' a two-day state-level conference on the theme 'Modern day crisis - Cultural response' will be held on July 25 and July 26 at Cha Fra D'Costa Sangama Kshetra, Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama, Vamanjoor, here.
The conference is being organized by the Kannada and Culture Department, Bengaluru in association with Karnataka Tulu, Konkani and Beary Sahitya Academies.
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday July 15, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino, Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president B A Mohammed Haneef, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Janaki Brahmavar briefed about the conference.
Mohammed Haneef said, "It is our duty to preserve, promote and nurture the art, language, literature and culture of Karnataka. In this regard we are organizing 'Sangama Sambhrama-2015'."
Roy Castelino briefing about the programme said, "On the inaugural day at 9:30 am a procession will be held from Vamanjoor junction in the presence of ministers, MLAs', invities and cultural teams from various parts of Karnataka, academy presidents and members and other guests.
"On July 25, 65 invited scholars from all over Karnataka will be joining all the academy presidents for the conference along with minister for Kannada and culture and women and child development Umashree and other dignitaries. Later classical music by Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy, Dollina Pada by Karnataka Folk Academy, Moharam Pada Tatwapada and plays will be perfromed by the Karnataka Nataka Academy. On July 26 also there will be many cultural programmes," he said.
"Prior to the two-day state conference, there will be three days of preliminary events like painting and sculpture art camps. To depict the Tulu culture 'Tulu Isiri' programme will be organised, and to spread the cultures of Konkani and Beary, 'Konkani Sambhram' and 'Pernal Sandhola' respectively, will be held. These three days will be full of programmes, camps and food stalls," he added.
Registrars of Konkani, Beary and Tulu Academies Dr B Devadas Pai, Umarabba and Chandrahas Rai, respectively, and others were present.
