Mangaluru, Jun 27: The members of district BJP on Saturday June 27 staged a protest in front of the DC's office here against the ruling Congress government over suicide of famers and other issues.
Adressing the protestors, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "Congress government is a sleeping government. It has become deaf to the cries of farmers. Even though farmers committed suicide, the CM has no time to visit their families, but people who are involved in cow slaughter are given compensation.
"The CM used to boast about his might, but the recent controversies within the government with regard to D K Shivakumar, K J George, Shivaraj Tangadagi has made him spineless. The Congress government is divided within the party. The IAS, IPS and KAS officers are not allowed to work independently," he said.
"The state government by withdrawing cases against the Popular Front of India (PFI) and Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) has become a terrorist-supporting government. In Karnataka anti-nationals go home and nationalists go to jail. CM Siddaramaiah has failed to initiate welfare programmes for people, hence he has resign or sack all the tainted ministers of the cabinet," he demanded.
Former MLC Monappa Bhandary said, "Congress government came to power in the state promising to wipe away the tears of the people, but now it has become a totally bankrupt government in all aspects. The administration under CM Siddaramaiah is a total failure. Ministers change their statements from time to time, and the CM is unaware of his ministers' statements. Siddaramaiah is not controlling his ministers, instead he falls asleep wherever he goes. A student named Yellalinga was murdered for speaking against the government, and Shivaraj Tangadagi has been involved in the Koppal, Kanakagiri murder incidents and hence he has to resign or has to be sacked by the CM. This is our demand."
District BJP president Pratap Simha, BJP leaders and corporators were also present.
