Puttur, Jun 26: A complaint filed by the president of Kuntoor Milk Producers Women's Cooperative Society says that she was attacked by the suspended secretary of the society, Ratna. This complaint was received by Kadaba station. On the other hand, the secretary too got admitted into a hospital, claiming that she was assaulted by the society president.
President of the society, Amita, who stands admitted into Kadaba Community Hospital, told the police that Ratna illegally entered her office on Thursday June 25, and took away several documents from there after beating her up. Ratna, who is in a hospital in Puttur, says that she was the victim of the attack launched by Amita.
Allegations had surfaced that the secretary of the society had misappropriated the money of the society, and manipulated quantum of milk delivered by members in such a way that certain members get additional money. She used to collect money from these beneficiaries, it was alleged. After the board of directors decided to investigate the matter, an official of Karnataka Milk Federation who conducted investigation, prima facie found the allegations to be true. Ratna was suspended from her post on June 23, duly instructing her to remit the amount of irregularity found in the investigation.
President of the society, Amita, said that Ratna arrived at the society on Thursday, and was taking away documents and records from the office after threatening the milk inspector there. 'When I asked her not to take the papers away, she used demeaning language against me, pulled me by my hair, and slapped me on my face. At the same time, her brother and relatives who had accompanied her, posed threats to us,' she added.
Members of the society held protest the same evening, seeking stern action against the suspended secretary. Ratna on the other hand, has asked the police to register her complaint of assault against Amita.
