Margao, May 2: Three from a gang who fled away after robbing a cash amount of Rs 20,000 at knifepoint from temple at Davarli-Margao were arrested within three hours of the crime.
Police have arrested suspects Santosh Mahadi (19), Raj Pradhan (21) and Prashant Pradhan (18) hailing from Orissa, in connection with this case.
According to the Maina-Curtorim police, this robbery took place in the wee hours of Tuesday. Five dacoits allegedly came to the temple at 2.00 am (midnight) and threatend the security staff at knifepoint and entered the temple. After breaking the grilles, they robbed cash and fled. Soon the security guard Kandra Marandi informed the police control room and based on his tip-off the police caught three culprits at the Konkan railway station as they were attempting to flee Goa.
Police said they both were staying at Banaulim and were working at a construction site. A hunt is on for the rest of the culprits.
