Mangaluru, Nov 22: The logo and pamphlet for 'Kala Parba', an upcoming cultural event to be held on January 11 and 12, 2025 at Kadri Park, were unveiled by Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader on Wednesday at Vishnu Vaibhava Hotel in the city. The event is organized by Sharadhi Pratistana.
Speaking at the launch, Khader praised the initiative, stating, “It is commendable that Kala Parba is being organized to encourage young artists. A decision will be made to allocate Rs 1 crore to promote art-related activities inside Kadri Park, with special emphasis on events like Kala Parba.”
Organizer Puneek Shetty explained, “Kala Parba aims to bring together various art forms in one place and expand the art scene. Photographs and artefacts will be showcased in 200 outlets, while 30 stalls will feature stone art and other presentations.”
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Mamatha Gatty, president of the Cashew Development Corporation; Ramesh Nayak, Guide of Sharadhi Pratistana; Srinivasa Nayak Indaje, president of the DK Journalists Association; and P B Harish Rai, president of the Mangaluru Press Club.
Artists Kotiprasad Alva, Ganesh Somayaji, Rajendra Kedige, Sridhara Holla, and Radhakrishna Bhat were also in attendance. The event was compered by artist Dinesh Holla.
