Panaji, Apr 30: The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organize a seminar on ‘EXIM Policy', with a view to carefully analyzing the new EXIM Policy in great detail, on May 2, 2007 at 9.30 am in the GCCI Convention Hall.
The workshop will be conducted by Sudhakar Kasture, director of Exim Management Institute, Mumbai.
The new policy is a comprehensive document on India’s foreign trade promotion framework, touching upon all relevant issues including the country’s stand on WTO matters, bilateral trade issues and free trade agreements. Regulations on the foreign currency front and export financing facilities may also be highlighted in the document.
The policy is expected to clear the clouds over FTA negotiation by India with various countries and likely to touch on infrastructural issues like ports, roads and rail links too. Needless to say, the National Foreign Trade Policy will aim at reduction in transaction cost and compatibility with WTO Principles. Policy is also expected to suggest amendments to existing schemes like EPCG, Advance Licence, and DEPB etc.
Those interested in attending the seminar may get in touch with GCCI.
