Mumbai, June 2 (IANS): Actress Sayantani Ghosh's entry to “Sasural Simar Ka” will usher in a supernatural twist to the TV show. She will be seen as a woman who despite her old age has retained her beauty with magical powers, and the actress says the character will add an “element of thrill to the storyline”.
She will play Rajkumari Rajeshwari, who is 90 years old, but with the help of some secret items, presents herself in her 20s. She started shooting for the show on Tuesday.
Sayantani notes that she is experimenting by taking up a new role and expects her fans to support her in this endeavour.
“I'm really excited to join the team. Rajkumari Rajeshwari’s character is quite mysterious and adds an element of thrill to the storyline," she said.
"My character in 'Sasural Simar Ka' is unlike anything that I have done in the past and I hope that my fans and viewers will not only appreciate this new journey that I am undertaking, but will also support me as always,” Sayantani said in a statement.
Sayantani's character will be portrayed as a wealthy and elegant woman, who is arrogant and bossy. She is very powerful and is willing to go to any length to protect her secret, read a statement.
The show, which is aired on Colors channel, revolves around lives of sisters Simar and Roli. Sayantani's entry will be via a sword fight with one of the male leads (Manish Raisinghan) of the show.
