Mangaluru, May 29: Sandhya Creations' 'Dhand' Tulu film produced by Shodhan Prasad under the banner of Sandhya Creations was released on Friday, May 29 at Suchithra theatre in the city amid much fanfare. The movie released in 12 theatres across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
The cast and crew of the movie arrived at the theatre in an entourage of auto rickshaws and a vintage car, flanked by traditional music bands, with a red carpet rolled all the way from the gate to the entrance. The movie evoked huge response as people flocked to the theatre in big numbers.
Shodhan Prasad's mother Sumathi Amin inaugurated the formal ceremony by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Shodhan Prasad said, "Dhand film has come out really well and I believe people will enjoy watching the movie. It is a good, quality film. We are eagerly waiting for the response from viewers. The film has romance, comedy and entertainment in it. It also gives a social message on drug abuse and atrocities against women. People should encourage us by watching the movie and that is how we can go forward in producing more movies."
Speaking to media music director Abhishek said, "I am very happy to witness the release of 'Dhand' film today. Lot of people have gathered here to watch the film which has a very good theme with complete entertainment and great songs. Songs of the film have already become popular. Background score has come out nice in a special way."
'Dhand' has been released in 12 theatres including Suchithra, PVR, and Cinepolis in the city and also in theatres in Udupi, Karkala, Moodbidri and Beltangady. There are plans to release it in Mumbai, Bengaluru and United Arab Emirates (UAE) soon.
Kannada Sahitya Parishath Dakshina Kannada district president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura honoured Shodhan Prasad on this occasion.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy's former president, M K Sitaram Kulal, businessman Shankar Suvarna, Sudhakar Kudroli, lead actor Arjun Kapikad, lead actress Shilpa Suvarna, Anvitha Sagar, Madhav, Deepak Paladka and others were also present on this occasion.
