Beltangady, May 24: As many as 150 ambulances which have run more than 5 lac kilometres will be replaced with new ones, revealed health minister U T Khadar. He was referring to 108 emergency government ambulances.
Khadar was speaking in a press meet at block Congress office here on Saturday May 23.
Khadar said whoever has deficiency of platelets will be supplied with it from the government. He said that uniform guidelines exist for the distribution of medicines throughout the state.
"Karnataka government is the only one in the country which conducted the socio-economic survey to identify the downtrodden. As with other communities, Ahinda community was also encouraged to join the mainstream. It was not a favour to any particular community. Let our critics say which community has been ignored. Then we will act," Khadar said.
List of achievements
Khadar asked the voters to vote for the current regime in the GP elections so that development continues in the state. "Anna Bhagya scheme is a model programme to the world. Even Barack Obama could not introduce these types of programmes in the USA. We have allotted lands for the landless. We have given houses for the homeless," Khadar added.
Sand mafia, Shiradi ghat issues
Answering a question on sand mafia, Khadar said that the opposition should appreciate the work done by the present government in the matter of sand mining. "Unlike during their time, we have identified sand blocks and we are allowing sand mining legally. They blankly allowed it when they were in power. We have stopped sand carrying lorries in the Charmadi as it would affect the quality of roads."
Speaking on the state of work on Shiradi Ghat, the minister said, "Shiradi Ghat work has been delayed because of unseasonal rains. Tender for the second phase of work was recently allotted. The work should finish in one-and-a-half months."
